Ayam Betutu Khas Gilimanuk

Standard

Rasanya gurih asin pedas. Very delicious!

Sluuurrrp! Padukan saja ketiga hidangan itu, pasti celana bagian perut kita akan jadi sempit seketika setelah habis menyantapnya.

plecing kangkung & sambal matah gilimanuk

Such a disaster for me!

Khayalan tingkat tinggi sepertinya …Atau mengarang bebas tingkat Internasional tepatnya, haha….

So…..ketika saya mendengar tentang Foodpanda, saya sebagai seorang foodie, absolutely langsung gembira luar biasa!

Great job!

I think this is the best way out for you!

Foodpanda is the best solution for your busy day! Just try it, friends! Very recommended!

This is the last dish I ate before my flight back to Jakarta. I never try it before, so it will be a gambling for me. Hopefully, this dish is became the perfect closure for my Bali’s culinary trip.

The small place, accommodate for only 20 persons, but it’s always crowded by their loyal customer. They opened their stall until 3 AM. Warung Makan Sederhana (in English translation means: simple food stall) was established its business since 20 years ago. Today this stall is managed by Mrs. Dayu Sri, the second generation. She inherit it from her father in law.

Warung Sederhana

Soto Balung Babi (pig’s bone soup) is become the specialty dish in here. Price 17 K. A delish big bowl of pig’s bone soup! The pig’s broth soup is so tasty. It mixed together with coriander, galangal, garlic & pepper. The soup color is clear and not too fatty. The pig’s meat is tender. Scrumptious!

Rujak Kuah Pindang Depot VIP

Standard

I found this small stall on the corner of street accidentally. When I’m on my way to Kuta Beachwalk (a mall), my driver suddenly showed me a place. So I decided to try it.

Depot VIP

Rujak Kuah Pindang is the most original & famous dessert in Bali. In another area, rujak is made from assorted shredded of fruit and they pour it with sweet & spicy peanut sauce. But in here, the fruits are combined with Kuah Pindang (fish soup). It made from fish boiled with water, salt, bay leaves, lemon grass, shrimp paste, sugar and chili. You can boiled it for approximately 15-30 minutes, then strain the broth.

Rujak Kuah PIndang

Shredded of pineapple, rose water, kedondong, young mango and young papaya that tastes sour and sweet, blended well with the salty and savory of fish broth soup. Very nice! You can eat it with crispy crackers or crispy tempeh. The price is very cheap, only 8 K. You can find this dish along the Kuta or Denpasar street area.

Mie Galang Makasar

Standard

I knew this place from the traveling book that I bought at Jakarta. So I’ve already put Mie Galang Makasar to my culinary must visit place list before I arrived in Bali. As written in that book, they said that this is the most delish place to eat noodle in Bali.

mie galang

mie galang2

For my first dish I choose Mie Galang (galang noodle). Price 22 K (small size). Very huge portion! Shaped flat noodles came with chicken meat, fish ball, siomay, fritter, mushroom and veggies. Flour and egg make the sauce became so gravy. In here, dried noodles cooked with scrambled way, not boiled. Noodle color became brownish on the outside, because scrambled with a little water. I think the sauce is tasteless. I have to add soy sauce on it. And I don’t really enjoy the noodle texture. It’s too rigid, less elastic. But the siomay & fritter are very nice.

Mie Galang small size

Second dish I order my favorite menu on Makasar restaurant: Nasi Goreng Merah (fried red rice). Price 20 K (small size). The fried rice has exactly the same ingredients with Mie Galang. They srambled the egg with the rice and their special red sauce. This dish is very scrumptious! Yummy! You can eat it with small chopped chili with vinegar or soy sauce.

Sate Plecing Arjuna

Standard

Sate Plecing is located at the corner of Yudisthira and Arjuna Street. Small tavern only suit for 20 persons. This place is recommended by our driver. He said on the lunch time, this place is very crowded.

Arjuna

Their specialty dish in here is Sate Babi (pork skewer). You can choose between the sweet sauce or the spicy one, called plecing. Because I’m a spicy food lover, I definitely want to try their Sate Plecing. Price 16 K. The satay came in the small pieces. Its taste very nom nom! I love the fatty part. The smoked seasoning of its spicy sauces soaked all over the meat. It’s very good!

Sate Plecing

They also served Sop Bakso (meatball soup) and Bakut (pork ribs soup). But I don’t give a try this time, because my stomach has already full. Perhaps another time!

Warung Siobak Khe Lok is opened the first time since 1963. Now its maintained by Khe Lok’s son, Ketut Antara or Yu An. Siobak is the icon dish of Singaraja area.

Actually I want to dine in its origin area, Singaraja. But it turns out, that area is too far from Denpasar and I have limited vacation time in Bali. Thanks God, they’ve already opened the branch at Denpasar. The place is quite small, only accommodate for about 25 persons.

Khe Lok

They cut all ingredients about the size of thumb and served it with their special tauco sauce (it made from tauco, chili & salt). You can also add the sauce with their special vinegar (it made from vinegar, garlic, sugar, salt & chili). It will create the rich taste (sweet, sour and salty). Eat it all with steamed rice. RM Ayam Taliwang As Siddiq

Standard

After Sanur, now I’m going to Bedugul area. Bedugul is a mountain lake resort area in Bali, Indonesia. It’s located in the centre-north region of the island near Lake Bratan on the road between Denpasar and Singaraja. Other nearby lakes are Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan.

Bedugul enjoys a mild mountain weather due to its location at an altitude of about 1,500 metres above the sea level. Major sites in Bedugul are the Eka Karya Botanic Gardens and the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan (water pura). Pura is Balinese temple or Hindu temple.

Pura Ulun

Beatiful view in here! I really enjoy the coolness of the air. I do not feel it in Jakarta city. After get around at Pura Ulun, I feel so hungry. I really confuse because there’s no recommendation in this Bedugul area that I’ve got from my culinary friends. Wew, so I have to find it out by myself.

On the right side of Pura Ulun, there’s a Lombok Food Restaurant: RM Ayam Taliwang As Siddiq. I decided to dine in this place.

As Siddiq

Ayam Taliwang is the specialty dish in here and it’s also the most famous Lombok food. Ayam Taliwang is made with chicken, which is cut and cleaned prior to grilling. Once it has been grilled halfway, it is removed from the grill and tenderized with a pestle. It is then dipped in cooking oil; after several seconds in the oil, it is put in a spicy sauce of garlic, chili, and shrimp paste. It is then fried or grilled to order.

Ayam Taliwang

Ayam Taliwang physically appears similar to regular grilled with a covering of sambal. Its taste is sweet and spicy. Very yummy! You can asked for the spiciness level (medium or strong). Price 32 K.

It can be served with a side of Plecing Kangkung (water spinach with chili sauce). Price 8 K. They mixed the boiled water spinach, bean sprout, grated coconut and fried peanut and covering it all with spicy chili. Very nice and of course healthy!

Plecing Kangkung

Other side dish you can choose is Beberuk (eggplant with chili sauce). It has the same version with Plecing Kangkung.

Beberuk Terong

Accidentally found, but it’s really impressed me. I definitely will be back in here if I have another chance.
