Bihun Bebek A Eng

Standard

Over all endeessssss!

Bebek Goreng HT Karang Empat

Standard

Bebek Goreng HT Karang Empat is a non air conditioner restaurant that can accommodate 50-60 persons on West Jakarta. It’s originated from Surabaya. It’s been famous since 1990.

Bebek HT place

As usually, I order their Bebek Goreng Super (super size fried duck). Price 19 K (original size: price 17 K). For steamed rice you have to add order, price 5 K (free refill). They provide Nasi Uduk (coconut milk steam rice) too. Price 7 K. I think their Super size fried duck is not real “Super” on its size. It’s quite small for me. But the duck meat is tender and savory. What I adore about this dish is their Signature Sambal. It’s very spicy! It will burn your mouth and make you sweat! They served it with Lalapan (raw veggies such as cucumber & kemangi leaves). Tasty!

Bebek Goreng Super

I also order Paru Goreng (fried lung). Price 20 K. Thin slices fried lung came with shrimp paste chili. Yummy! Instead of eat with its sambal which not too spicy for me, I choose to eat with their Signature Sambal. I can’t find this kind of Sambal on other places.

Paru Goreng

If you don’t like duck, you can choose chicken (fried chicken, roasted chicken). They also served Iga Goreng (fried ribs), Buntut Goreng (fried oxtail), Gurame Goreng (fried carp fish), Nasi Goreng Bebek (fried rice with slices of duck meat), Empal Goreng (fried beef meat), Udang/Cumi Cobek (shrimp/squid with sambal), Tempeh/Tofu, Cah Kangkung (spicy stir fried watercress) & Sayur Asem (sour veggies soup).

Bebek Bengil

Standard

Although Bebek Bengil has already opened their branch at Jakarta, I still feel excited to enjoy their cuisine in their original place. Bengil in Bali’s language means Dirty. Maybe it took from the habit of duck that like to play in the mud puddle.

Bebek Bengil

Bebek Bengil is one of the largest outdoor garden restaurants of the world. It is featuring lotus ponds, large elephant leaf plants, statues and a beautiful rice field view from all around.

view1

They first opened in 1990 and had only 25 seats. They renovated the restaurant in 2001 increasing the number of seats to 350 and expanding on the beauty of the garden to make it more attractive to all guests.

The specialty dish in here is Bebek Bengil. Price 92 K. It’s half a duck steamed in Indonesian spices (such as garlic, ginger, coriander, galangal, kaempferia galangal), deep fried for a crispy finish. Served with sautéed potatoes and side salad or rice and Balinese vegetables. The duck skin is so crispy, but the meat inside is so tender and moist. So delicious! The potatoes is sautéed with parsley & pepper. Taste quite nice.

Crispy Duck

They also give us a bowl of salad with vinegar dressing. I like it because it’s more healthy than thousand island dressing (the common dressing you will find in other places). The fried dish is not perfect without good sambals. There are three kind of sambals that provided in this place. The first one is blended chili, the second is shredded of chili with vinegar & squeeze of lemon/lime and the last is the famous sambal matah. Sambal Matah is raw shallot and lemongrass sambal of Bali origin. It contains a lot of finely chopped shallots, chopped bird’s eye chili, terasi shrimp paste with a dash of lemon. It’s so yummy, suitable for my crispy duck.

Sambal Bebek Bengil

They also served different version of duck dishes such as: Green Chili Grilled Duck, Grilled Duck with Sweet Chili Sauce, Duck served in a Tomato Sauce and Duck Breast with Wine Sauce. If you don’t like duck dish, you can choose Chicken dish (such as Red Chili Sauce Grilled Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Ayam Suwir Bali, Tender Lemon Chicken, Chicken Skewer, etc)

Bebek Tepi Sawah

Standard

Bali is the most exotic island in Indonesia. Their panorama, beaches, culture and of course their culinary always captivated my heart. I really longing for having vacation again in Bali. The crazy traffic jam & hectic working time at Jakarta sometimes make me so stress out. Periodically, I took time to get my relaxation time in a particular place. Bebek Tepi Sawah is one of that kind of place. Suddenly you were taken away from the urban city to the serenity ambience & traditionally Balinese mix w/ casual style design’s place. Located in the crowded mall doesn’t reduce their sensation.

Bebek Tepi Sawah

With only 6-8 main menu option, they serve the best quality of Bali cuisine. You must try their Crispy Fried Duck. Price 90 K. With a half of crispy fried duck, steamed rice & string bean sautéed w/ coconut milk & chili and of course their fascinating 3 kind of sambal; that price is suitable with the taste. The meat is tender inside & crispy skin outside, yummy! I really adore their sambal (matah sambal, balachan sambal & slices cayenne chili sautéed w/ onion & shrimp paste).

3 kind of Sambals

For soup, they provide Sup Ikan Tampak Siring (Carp Fish Soup). Price 55 K. The soup made from water mix w/ green tomato, orange leaves, lemongrass & starfruit/belimbing wuluh). So refreshing! Delicious!

Fish Soup

For veggies, they didn’t give us an option, there’s only one dish: Plecing Kangkung (watercress with balachan chili & fried peanuts). Price 17.5 K. This is the best Plecing Kangkung that I’ve ever taste. Fresh, tasty & healthy at the same time. Perfect match with my diet program right now ;)
