This place is recommended by Mr. Arie from Kelana Rasa Culinary. So I think this is the must try place at Bali. He said that this place is served the delish Balinese food.
Warung Krishna area is so large. It accommodate for 80-100 person. I choose to sit on the outside area.
The specialty dish in here is Tipat Kuah. Price for about 20 K. Tipat or Ketupat is made from rice that has been wrapped in a woven palm leaf pouch and boiled. As the rice cooks, the grains expand to fill the pouch and the rice becomes compressed. This method of cooking gives the ketupat its characteristic form and texture of a rice dumpling. It came with Lawar (assorted shredded veggies such as string bean, bean sprout, young coconut meat w/ spicy herbs Balinese seasoning), strong spices soup with chayote-bitter melon-cabbage-shredded of chicken, sate lilit ikan (fish skewer), boiled egg, crispy wings and sambal matah (Balinese sambal).
This dish is so savory and very delish! I like it so much. I’ve never seen this kind of dish at other places. Usually they eat it for breakfast. And don’t forget to grab one pack of crispy chicken feet or pig fat crackers on the cashier table. Sprinkled it on top of your Tipat Kuah! OMG, it’s so yummy! If you don’t like Tipat, you can substitute it with rice or porridge.
